Showing Design through an Art filter

This exhibition explores Ross Lovegrove’s work through three main families of projects :
Organic essentialism (one of the most important notion of Ross Lovegrove’s work.), Eco and Digital.
These families are displayed on main podiums structuring the path of the visitor. The exhibition proposes as well art installations :
- The Cocoon :

Made just for the exhibition with Barrisol company.
This golden mylar display allows to show the project Instinctive Override (a light installation) in the dark.
- The LiquidCrystal pavilion :
Designed for Lasvit, this pavilion showcases Ross Lovegrove’s personal sketchbooks. Its ceilling has a moving light projection, metaphore of the artist’s moving ideas.

A complex process and a short timing

- Design of the global concept of the exhibition.
- Layout of the pieces in an esthetically coherent way.
- Selection of the inspiration images composing the exhibition.
- Modelisation of the space on Rhino.
- Conception and fabrication of bespoke displays
> direct contact with the makers.
- Coordination of the teams : studio, museum and external suppliers.

Podium display - Organic essentialism :

On each podium the pojects were shown with inspiration pictures in the background. The goal was to give a feeling of Ross’s inspiration at first sight without drawning the visitor in explainations.

Catalogue of the exhibition

The goal of the catalogue was also to show Ross’s DNA : the dialogue between design, nature and art.
I recreated the feeling of each main theme by making chapters opening with mood boards. I tried again to communicate with feelings
more than words.

Tasks list :
- Supervision of the global coherence and understanding of Ross Lovegrove’s philosophy.
- Selection of the projects and images.
- Design of the mood boards.
- Checking, correction and writing of the texts in french.
